Ever feel like having lamb kebobs or Frilly Frankfurters and think, “Wow, I just don’t have the time!” Never fear. Quick Dishes for the Woman in a Hurry is here. And no, I still am not sure what Frilly Frankfurters are. Or why only women are in a hurry. Oh yeah, it’s 1955.
I assumed this collection would be casserole heavy….WRONG! Just a lot of basic recipes for chilly, dinner omelets, pan-fried pork chops and burgers, and dinner salads. But it made me giggle that they think baking an entire cherry pie is “quick”. And the recipe for Peach Blush Salad, which involves taking two canned peach halves and stuffing it with a mayonnaise dressing on a bed of greens made me hurl.
Sections include: Appetizers (Ha! Even in a hurry, you still need a nice crudité), Soups, Breads, Meat and Main Dishes, Eggs, Vegetables, Salads and Salad Dressings, Desserts and Beverages. A must for every Rachel-Ray wannabe.
68 pages; 6 x 8.5 inches; 1955.
