Don’t you love hamburger meat done in Technicolor? Yeah, me neither. Kinda looks like something my cat yacked up. This vivid collection of carnivorous treats will take you back. Way back. For some reason illustrations from the Gay ’90’s abound. I’ve never seen so many boater hats! I’m talking about the turn of the 20th century dears, not divas dancing in cages ;)
Sections include: Appetizers & Soups, Salads (huh?), Top O’ the Range, Oven Main Dishes, Easy to Broil, and Cook it Outdoors. I love in the credits they thank the National Pickle Packers Association tee hee.
This is definitely NOT for the vegan in your life. Recipes include: Main Dish Coleslaw (with franks in it!), Bohemian Burgers (effin hippies!), Juicy, Rich Tomato Balls, Creamed Franks and Eggs in Buns, Frank Rabbit, Frank Suey, Frank ‘n’ Lima Skillet, Meat Boats, and Career Girl Spaghetti, which I pray isn’t a take on the Italian Puttanesca (“Whore’s Dinner”).
Classic recipes and add-ins for burgers are included. Perfect for your next Mad Men-themed picnic! Need a Spicy Peach Loaf or Glamour Dogs for your next potluck? They’re here too.
